There are so many online resources to learn how to code. Here is our review of CodeCombat.
Maria spent the day at the Shetland & Industry Energy Showcase to discuss the future of decommissioning in Shetland and see what resources Shetland has to offer
I was delighted to attend the Shetland & Industry Energy Showcase, hosted by the Oil & Gas Authority, Shetland Island Council and Highland and Islands Enterprise. The purpose of the event was to market Shetland as a prime decommissioning location for the North Sea.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the concept of decommissioning, it’s basically where an Operator clears the site of a producing well, removing any structure such as rigs and pipelines and disposes of any materials which are no longer usable. It’s a huge operation and is a great opportunity for our island.
I left the networking event last night after talking to both operators and our local companies and I can genuinely say that the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement at the possibilities of making Shetland the capital of decommissioning. I spoke to a variety of operators who were amazed at the level of resources we have, and the services we can provide. I think I can safely say that a lot of them have gone back down south seeing Shetland through different eyes.
I also had the pleasure of talking to some local Shetland companies, such as Malakoff, EMN, Lerwick Port Authority, Augean, Kildrummy and John Lawrie. I believe that each of these companies, plus those I didn’t get a chance to speak to have the ability to make Shetland a strong competitor in the decommissioning sector.
But why did we attend? Mesomorphic Ltd aren’t a company that you would naturally associate with the decommissioning sector, however we are a company who you can naturally associate with working alongside local companies to provide them with solutions that complement and enhance their current processes. After all, a company’s processes are as unique as a fingerprint and have been perfected to reflect the nature of each company.
Companies use a variety of software tools such as spreadsheets, word documents, and off the shelf packages to help with the day to day running. Whilst incredibly useful, more often than not, we find users having to switch back and forth between multiple sheets, tabs and programs to get their job done. Spreadsheets can corrupt, losing data if no backups are taken, word documents can be updated with a limited audit trail, and off the shelf packages often require expensive bolt-ons and licencing.
We want to give you the opportunity to wave a magic wand and create a system which perfectly fits your company, designed to be secure, flexible, and require minimal user training. Why not get in touch to arrange a free consultation and see how we can work together to turn your dream system into a reality?
